Privacy Policy – Movia Digital Companion

  1. Overview

This Privacy Policy describes how the Movia Digital Companion app (“the App”) handles information when used on Android devices. 

The App is developed and operated by Movia Robotics. 

Movia Digital Companion displays an animated virtual robot avatar and produces audio and visual output in response to commands from a separate controller application. 

The App is designed to minimize data collection and protect user privacy. 

  1. Information the App Collects

2.1 Information Collected Automatically 

The App may collect limited, non-personal information necessary for operation, including: 

  • Device type and operating system version
  • App version and build information
  • Non-identifying diagnostic and crash data

This information is used only to ensure stability, compatibility, and performance. 

2.2 Information the App Does Not Collect 

The App does not collect, store, or transmit: 

  • Personal information (names, email addresses, identifiers)
  • Audio recordings
  • Video recordings or images
  • Camera data or facial images
  • Biometric information
  • Location data
  • Contacts or files stored on the device

Any speech produced by the App is generated locally on the device and is not recorded or stored.  

Visual behaviors such as eye contact or listening poses are simulated animations only and do not involve camera access or facial recognition. 

  1. How Information Is Used

Any information collected by the App is used solely to: 

  • Run the virtual robot’s visual and audio features
  • Maintain app stability and performance
  • Diagnose and fix technical issues

The App does not use data for advertising, analytics profiling, or tracking. 

  1. Data Sharing

The App does not sell, share, or transfer user data to third parties. 

Information may be disclosed only if required to comply with applicable laws or legal obligations. 

  1. Data Storage and Retention

  • The App does not store personal user data.
  • Diagnostic logs, if enabled, are limited and non-identifying.

  1. Security

Movia Robotics implements reasonable technical safeguards to protect the App and its operation, including: 

  • Secure local processing
  • Restricted access to system resources
  • Minimal permission usage

  1. Children’s Privacy

The App is suitable for educational environments and does not collect personal data from children. 

Because the App does not collect personal information, it complies with applicable child privacy regulations, including COPPA, where applicable.
